DGI.Simpl.Udp.Client.Module 1.1.3
UDPClient
Listens In a UDP socket with a third-party Ethernet device for as long as the Connect input join is high.
SIMPL+ Wrapper that wraps UDP Client DGI DotNetUdpClient
Recreates the UDP Client found on the main library with a couple of improvements:
- IP addresses and ports can be added ether as Signals or as parameters, which avoids having to create IP tables.
- Joins allow to change of addresses or ports during runtime. The underlying C# driver will automatically disconnect and reconnect whenever the IP address, Hostname or Port are changed
- Provides reconnection when either not connected or after it drops with increasing retry times to not overburden the network or the processor
- Failures are not logged in the Logger. To see results check status of symbol.
- Adds Serilog to log events. Log Levels can be set from Verbose to Error. Default is Error.
- Logs will be written to console when the program runs in an Appliance and to Error Log when running on a server.
- supports resolving mDNS names
- Sent Data to SIMPL is limited to chunks of 250 characters, to work about SIMPL's serial join character limitation.
VC-4 Notes
Under CentOs, the mDNS ports are closed by default. For your program to resolve mDNS commands the following must be done:
sudo firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-port=5353/udp
sudo firewall-cmd --reload
